Specialising in cool growing orchids, Orchidup is located in the coolest, wettest part of Western Australia, near the town of Walpole.
Orchidup is a family owned business that started as an adjunct to our traditional beef cattle farm. Our forebears were amongst the first settlers in the region, establishing the property in the early 1930s. Their foresight means that the land is highly productive whilst still retaining significant tracts of natural bushland. It is in these areas that we have managed to conserve significant numbers of native orchids.
Conservation and sustainability are high on our agenda with organic principles used on the farm and in the orchid house. We are also actively involved in environmental research to help further the understanding of the unique flora and fauna that make up the surrounding Walpole Wilderness.

Robert Walker, our vege man, has supported the Walpole Markets from its very first market. Robert grows a wide range of vegetables on his farm near Manjimup. To widen the selection, he sources other produce from neighbouring farmers.
Rows of crates and baskets, laden with produce, that is often picked the afternoon before, make up Robert’s stall. Customers enjoy the fresh produce that has fewer food miles.
Robert says that in season for Spring are the brassicas– cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale.
The Peaceful Bay Beanie Co has been a regular over the years at the Walpole Market. Sharing a love of knitting, Jo and Sarah collaborate to design a range of hand knitted beanies in fun and practical styles, using a combination of 100% Australian wool and contemporary yarns. Supported by a team of local knitters, the Beanie Co also produce tea cosies, headscarves, brooches and sun hats. Jo and Sarah love meeting their customers at the markets.
